Covid-19-Response 2022
The Third Wave of COVID-19 is impending. Help us to save the lives of vulnerable sections
The First and Second waves of COVID-19 claimed over 4 lakh lives in India. Fear, chaos, disruption and ambiguity raised vicious storms that engulfed rural families into an unending cycle of pain. The horrific circumstances brought by the second wave, where we all became witnesses to multiple crematoria running out of space, dead bodies abandoned near river banks, people begging for oxygen and healthcare professionals having excruciating mental breakdowns.
Unemployment and depletion of savings have landed thousands of families into deprivation and bankruptcy. They are slowly starving themselves to death. The children from these families, having already lost their touch with studies, are soon to enter the premature labour force. Several girls from these impoverished families would either be given away in child marriages or sold to the traffickers. Social violence and discrimination against the COVID-19 affected families in the rural areas would amplify due to the lack of awareness and stigma.
As the third wave of the COVID-19 hits, the pandemic is acquiring the shape of one of the most tragic epidemics that might wipe out several villages and strangulate the life of marginalized communities.
Now, it is incumbent on all of us to save the lives of marginalized communities.
Through extensive COVID-19 response action in the past two waves, CASA could assist 56 lakh lives in rural India. We have saved lakhs of lives by providing monetary help, ration kits, medical and psycho-social support during this health emergency. We are committed to reducing the severity of the third wave and saving as many families as we could.
By joining hands with us, you can enable:
- Distribution of relief material to sustain the families who have lost their source of livelihood.
- Provision of hygiene kit which includes sanitary pads for the girls and women of the families of rural India.
- Raising awareness on precaution against COVID-19 besides clearing misconceptions and dismantling stigma against getting tested or vaccinated.
- Empowering the local and community health centers with oxygen concentrators and medical kits.
- Training Barefoot health workers to raise awareness and support.
- Protection of women and children against domestic abuse and trafficking.
- Continuation of the education of rural children who cannot afford virtual classes.
TOGETHER WE CAN HELP THE ONES IN NEED
The most powerful force that inspires life is Hope - #Umeed
There's hope in the early rays of the dawning sun. There's hope in every smile. This hope is a pillar that can support life in the most difficult periods such as the pandemic.
For the past two years, since the outbreak of Coronavirus in India, CASA has been endeavouring to infuse hope in the spirits of those who have lost a lot- The migrant workers, children from financially weaker strata, women from socially marginalised segments, the elderly who have no one to rely on and forest-dwelling communities s- whose sufferings cannot be measured in numbers.
With the arriving third wave, we must continue to support them psycho-socially and materially. In the previous two waves, having witnessed the scale of the damage done by the virus and the unpreparedness of communities in battling it, we are committed to improving three fields in rural areas:
- Healthcare support
- Livelihood support
- Awareness
Our attempt is very simple: Reviving the Hope for life and sustenance through extensive relief intervention.
The support has been successful in saving 56 Lakh lives from the pangs of coronavirus in rural India. We are planning to continue our operation and your support can help build an impactful system that provides Hope for Life to the marginalised and vulnerable sections of society.
If the horrific pandemic can wage a war against humanity, we can always fight back with united efforts and planned moves! Join us in saving lives.
